Neighbour moves to retirement village

After 20 odd years playing Harold Bishop on Neighbours, Veteran actor Ian Smith is putting down Harold’s tuba and retiring.

Before you say “oh, is he going to be killed off? Will he go get washed off the rocks and suffer amnesia again?”, no he isn’t doing that. He’s signed a contract that he’ll have to make guest appearances in the show still. That usually means if they write off his character completely, the show will go into lower ratings than it already is having. That way, when the ratings are about 2 digits, they can bring Harold back as a guest – telling young juveniles how to straighten up and fly right… etc.

Onya Ian – you deserve it.
